Welcome to the Spotted Koala App (“App”). The App enables users to record koala sightings and contribute to conservation, research, and wildlife management initiatives.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Purpose of the App

The Spotted Koala App supports wildlife conservation by enabling users to report koala sightings, upload photographs, and share observational data. Information submitted through the App may be used by researchers, conservation organisations, and wildlife managers to better understand koala distribution, health, and threats.

2. User Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the App. If you are under 18, you must use the App with permission from a parent or guardian.

3. User Contributions

Users may submit koala sightings, photos or videos, location data, and observational notes. By submitting content, you agree that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you will not intentionally submit false or misleading information.

4. Responsible Wildlife Interaction

Users must not disturb wildlife when collecting observations. Maintain a safe distance from koalas, avoid interfering with animals or their habitat, and follow local wildlife protection laws and guidelines.

5. Copyright and User Content License

By uploading photographs, videos, or other content, you retain ownership of your content but grant Spotted Koala and its partners a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free license to use, store, reproduce, analyse, and publish the material for conservation, research, educational, and outreach purposes.

6. Data Use for Research

Observation data submitted through the App may be used for scientific research, conservation planning, and environmental management. Data may be included in scientific publications, reports, or conservation datasets. Published information will generally be aggregated or anonymised.

7. GPS and Location Consent

The App may collect GPS location information to record wildlife sightings. By using the App and enabling location services, you consent to the collection and use of location data for recording and analysing wildlife observations.

8. Third‑Party Services

The App may rely on third‑party services such as app distribution platforms, analytics tools, or cloud storage providers. These services may have their own privacy policies and terms.

9. Disclaimer

The App is provided 'as is' without warranties of any kind. Spotted Koala does not guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted data or uninterrupted availability of the App.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spotted Koala and its partners are not liable for damages arising from use of the App, incorrect wildlife reports, technical interruptions, or data loss.

11. Changes to Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the App after updates indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
